Republicans in Congress: Spineless Puppets in Nice Suits

When you think about the fact that Congressmen and Congresswomen are sworn into office to work together for the betterment of all people within the United States of America, it makes you wonder why so many Republicans are standing behind Donald Trump and Elon Musk illegally making changes they know would be challenging (if not impossible) to pass without their bulldozing tactics. For the past two weeks, I have consumed enough data from both the Democratic party and the Republican party to come to the conclusion that the Republicans in Congress are simply weak white supremacists (and mindless followers) in masks who do not desire to work with Democrats to do the job they took an oath to do.

How Republicans in Congress show they are weak

Hate and fear are destructive emotions. We don’t know which Republicans are motivated by hate and which are motivated by fear of losing their precious campaign dollars but regardless of which disease eats them on the inside, they both weaken the vessels of any bodies which house these strong emotions on a regular basis. I have been completely baffled by watching some of these people repeat the same lies over and over again while trying to justify their actions (or should I say inaction of defending our democracy). When I sat back and thought to myself “why would they not want to do their job?”, it eventually became clear to me that Republicans in Congress are simply tired of “working” by the laws and regulations that are meant to benefit everyone. They are too weak for the job.

They all saw Trump 2.0 as their escape plan from dealing with people who actually care about all Americans and our positive influence around the world. I watched Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis say that she did not see a problem with Trump approving Elon Musk to blindsight many government agencies and freeze their funds because of her issue with federal bureaucrats misusing the money given to them. When she was asked why she doesn’t just do her job and work according to the rules given to her so that the American people are aware of what is going on and given full transparency, she went on a rant about her frustration with dealing with bureaucrats in hearings to get an understanding of how the money is being spent (which is her job). This made it clear to me that the illegal actions taken by Elon Musk at the approval of Donald Trump was their easy button.

In their perfect world, Republicans would not have to work with Democrats and they can just do whatever they want without any checks or balances. They wouldn’t need to develop the strength to handle high-stress situations, adversity, and disagreements like every other American who gets up to go to work daily. They would just be able to kick their feet up and breeze by with handling the government however they see fit. They do not care about our Democracy because they want to be able to follow their leader and dictate like a CEO of a company quickly headed for bankruptcy.

Manipulation Tactics by Republicans

I have noticed a common pattern amongst the delusional individuals who try to give reasoning for their support of the illegal actions which have taken place in our government since Trump 2.0 began.

Illusion of Truth: Many Republicans knowingly repeat the same lies over and over again because they believe that if they keep saying lies, people will eventually believe it to be true. Sadly, this tactic actually works on many US citizens because that is why Trump has so many supporters in the first place. His whole campaign was an “Illusion of Truth” and it worked. I don’t know if it’s comical, sad, or both to realize how many grown adults fall for this on a daily basis. I guess it is safe to say that our educational system definitely needs some improvements. Nevertheless, it is clear that Republicans have no spine and no brain therefore they must resort to doing this in a sad attempt to make sense of their support of this attack on our democracy.
Deflection: I witnessed Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis and Governor Kim Reynolds deflect many times when they were asked direct questions about their actions in each of the interviews I watched. They love to change the focus of the conversation to take attention away from the question being asked.
Gaslighting: I think it is safe to say that Joe Biden had a respectable Presidency and many people are grateful for the way he did his job while in office. Republicans despise this and that is why when they are confronted about the flaws within the Trump 2.0 administration they often resort to bringing up the Biden administration in hopes to upset the people they are talking to and throw them off with their gaslighting. This tactic is not effective although it is heavily used because people are concerned about what is happening now in the present times and only Republicans seem to be stuck in the past & worried about what Biden did or did not do. It is actually quite sad how many times I have seen Republicans bring up Biden when they were being confronted about how they are supporting Trump and Elon Musk breaking the law.

The Government is Governmenting

Despite all of this chaos, I have never been more proud to be an American. When I saw so many Democratic leaders come together to rally against Elon Musk it literally brought me to tears. It was so beautiful to see white people, black people, asian people, latin people, and so many ethnicities of leaders stand together for a common cause. They truly represented what this country looks like.

My heart is also filled with joy each time I read a news headline that says a judge blocked the illegal actions of Trump and Musk. The amount of gratitude I feel for every judge who is upholding the Constitution is tremendous regardless of which political party they are part of.

I sleep well at night knowing that there are people who are willing to do the job they took an oath to do despite so many Republicans looking for a way to avoid that. The government is governmenting and our democracy will not be broken by these people who wish to destroy it.

It is my hope that the lessons we learn from this era will open the eyes of many people who are blind and bring us together as a stronger nation so that we can learn to love each other. Love is what we need, not hate. Unity is what will allow us to survive, not division. Accountability is how we will grow, not by lies.
